Universal Infant Free School Meals:

From September 2014 pupils in Reception to year 2 (Please note: up to and including Year 2 – not Class 2) are entitled to a free school meal. Pupils do not automatically receive Universal Free School Meals. An application form must be completed.

Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil Premium Funding was launched by the Government in 2011-2012. All pupils eligible for free school meals are allocated additional funding which the school receives to provide initiatives designed to ensure eligible pupils reach their full potential both academically and socially. If your child prefers food from home or has dietary/medical constraints which mean they do not eat, we would be grateful if you would still complete an application form. The school can then check and apply for Pupil Premium Funding.

6th Form School Lunch Arrangements

6th Form pupils shop and prepare their own lunches as part of their ASDAN modules. The lunches are homemade and cooked with fresh ingredients, yoghurts or fruit are offered as a desert. A group of four students, (the group changes every term), choose their own recipes and shop for this in a local supermarket. They cook their own recipes for themselves and their 3 peers over the whole term, and if they have a portion remaining they have the opportunity to take this home for someone to sample their culinary efforts. The other students help to choose recipes for our dinner lady to cook and each day the dinner lady has one student to help as kitchen assistant, (this is on a termly rota). This shopping is ordered online, the students use a supermarket website once a week to type in all the food ticked on the dinner lady’s shopping list and it is delivered every Monday morning.

The shopping is paid for by the dinner money contributions from parent(s)/ carers which at the moment is £12.00 per week.
